Whatever You Are, Be A Good One
As we head into the new year, I know many of you are reflecting on all the things you've accomplished. The year has gone by fast, eh?

There are many of you who've already taken out the "To Do" list for 2009. If you know me, you know that I'm all about "To Do" lists! However, before you even write down anything, I recommend reading Nick Rice's post, The Progress Formula. I really love his idea of creating a vision of how you would feel as you do your work. As someone who follows the Napoleon Hill school of thought, this actually makes a great deal of sense.

If you take Nick's suggestions and apply it to a goal of improving your service, you could say something like, "Next year I want to feel excited about helping and serving people. I want to have fun and know that I'm making a difference in people's lives."

I said something very similar to myself a few weeks ago when I was starting to feel uninspired and didn't want to write. I said to myelf, "I am excited about writing articles for my clients who love and appreciate my work." Just saying that sentence to myself a couple times re-energized my spirit!

What's really interesting is what happened after I said that affirmation to myself. I got two new writing clients and right now I'm in negotiations with another potential client!

Now it's your turn...

What do you want to happen next year? Write down what you want vs. writing down what you think you need to do. Visualize it. Feel it!
