What's scary (or not) about search engi...</title><content type='html'>Hi Shaun!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What&amp;#39;s scary (or not) about search engines is that people can read just about anything on a person or business.  This is certainly nice for the person who wants to make sure their doing business with a trust-worthy company.  Unfortunately, there are many companies who still don&amp;#39;t realize this.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You&amp;#39;ve made some interesting points based on a web designer or web master&amp;#39;s perspective. In think it is due to the principle that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Their strategy to become the only search engine that matters has been startlingly successful. They are. However this has delivered a few maybe undesirable side affects&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The problem that a lot of people, web designers and web master in particular, will be heard to complain about is that google is dictating to them how they should do their job. Google likes some things (although it doesn&amp;#39;t always tell you what they are!) and it dislikes others, and when it doesn&amp;#39;t like something, it tends to impose sanctions&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The idea that a web master can adopt a &amp;quot;screw google&amp;quot; mentality is unthinkable. We need them to like us and they know it. Where will it lead?
